I want to change, but where to start?

There is no one rule that works for everybody, your change is unique.

If you’ve ever desired to change something substantial about your life but find yourself in the same routine of what’s familiar, this read might be for you.

We naturally create a pattern of behavior simply from past familiar situations, and those behaviors, thoughts, and actions keep us in the “loop of comfort”. Sometimes we dislike our own behaviors so much because they bring us some sort of discomfort or pain but because it’s familiar to us, we keep going around the same mountains.

Routines are wonderful but there’s something spectacular about our bodies being out of schedule…when I say out of schedule I don’t mean neglecting what brings you joy (morning routines, exercise, meditation, etc.), what I mean is that we are out of sync from what we’re used to. What do we do in those situations? We return to familiar territory of what we know.

What’s crazy is it takes a conscious effort to create and continue change. An intentional consciousness around the topic of change, acknowledging, and then taking action when those thoughts and behaviors arise is one of the best ways I’ve been able to create long term change in my life. It’s still a daily challenge, until one day it’s not anymore because we’ve rewired our brains . Read that again.

We create the same experience for a familiar feeling instead of stepping into the unknown. Staying conscious requires a certain amount of awareness and energy. You have to ask yourself does the familiar and staying “here” outweigh the unknown and the potential of what could happen?

When we become conscious we notice how we feel and we are no longer in the schedule programming of our past. Scheduled programming of our past means functioning in a robotic state of unconsciousness. Scary. In this state you aren’t living, only existing.

Notice what you want to change in your life.

Acknowledge the familiar feelings of the past.

Step into the unknown with courage and rewrite your story
